Combining the traditional song writing of his piano ballads with the rockier edge of his band, Freddy Gillmore creates a unique brand of alternative music that reflects the pessimistic sentiment of his generation. His sound, much like his visual identity, exists in a dark and cinematic world; perhaps why he hails the likes of Jeff Buckley and Amy Winehouse as key influences.
Raised on a riverside farm in the Devon countryside, Freddy began playing the piano as a child, learning jazz from an early age. Now based in Manchester, he has established a fanbase and buzz in the local live scene, recently headlining the iconic ‘Deaf Institute’. His debut single ‘Albatross’, was described as: ‘Amy Winehouse if she had been influenced by Trip Hop’ (The Devil Has the Best Tuna). His self-produced debut EP ‘Your Mind’ was released in July 2023
