In their own words, Arrowhead are a “trashy rock outfit from Manchester, UK; musically winging it since 2015.”
In September 2015, Arrowhead was formed in the most glamorous and punk rock way possible. The members all attended a “form a band” event at Holy Cross College in Bury and very soon after, Arrowhead was born in its earliest form.
Several name and lineup changes later, they began gigging regularly and in July 2017, the band recorded their debut EP Vignettes with the help of fellow Novustory musicians James Duckworth and Imogen Storey before entering a brief hiatus.
The band regrouped in Spring 2018 with Sam Ainscoe on lead guitar and recorded their follow up EP, “Social Animals,” which was released in November 2018, preceded by the lead single, “Go.”
Founded in 1996 PERCY sit amongst the same fertile allotments that sprouted post punk musical legends like The Fall, Gang of Four and PiL. Left-field and lyrical but spooning up a punchy, looping riff that is guaranteed to keep your feet tapping and your head nodding. Originally featuring one of the Housemartins (til 2004) the Happy Hour legacy remains to this day with upbeat energy and a wry twist of fun.
“Percy deliver a twisted but humorous tale of small town humanity in punky rasping Yorkshire tones. Discordant nasty and great fun – your can really hear the venom!” Vic Galloway
” A toe tapping jaw dropper: Life in a northern town on viciously beaten guitars. Think Half Man Half Biscuit meets the Housemartins…” Steve Lamacq
Formed in 2017, and originally going by the name Halfway Home, the four piece band performed their first gigs in and around the Manchester area in 2018. They changed their name to 10 Volt in early 2019 and continued to write and perform their original rock songs with a large dose of funk (plus a sprinkling of the blues, and some soul influences). In short, a 10 Volt gig is varied and never dull. 10 Volt published their first release, the four track ‘Halfway Home EP’ in June 2019.
3 piece power pop-punk with a girl fronting. They are signed to a small label and get around the UK quite a bit and playing in manchester this week. I have known Jay the guitarist for years through other bands he has been in.
