The New Christs

The New Christs, born in Sydney in the early 80’s, formed by none other than Radio Birdman frontman, Rob Younger. The New Christs pride themselves on appearing spasmodically in Australia and internationally over their almost four-decade long history. Throughout the bands career they have released five studio albums, Distemper (1989), Lower Yourself (1997), We Got This! (2002), Gloria (2009) and Incantations (2014). The New Christs’ high-energy performances are what they are renowned for both at home and away. Songs like ‘Born out of Time’, ‘Like a Curse’ and ‘Heading South’ are etched firmly into the Australian underground music psyche. Younger’s unmistakable voice and unshakable stage presence remains a consistent draw card for lovers of Australian garage rock. Rounded out by an incredible line up of musicians The New Christs feature members of Radio Birdman, Celibate Rifles and the Screaming Tribesman to name but a few.
