Please excuse the LONG update below. I thought you may want to know what we have coming up over the next couple of months but first. THIS WEEKEND we have performances from THE CITIZEN, SOOTY TERN and THE LOUCHE FC (tonight) and tomorrow from LION O'BRIEN, MATTHEW GRAY and a couple more....it's £6 on the door and are open till 2am.

So then Autumn....
As the festival season comes to a close and summer ends, the Night & Day Cafe in the Northern Quarter has enough live music and comedy to keep you entertained right through till Christmas. From Canadian newcomers The Wilderness of Mantitoba who have been compared to Fleet Foxes and Bon Iver to the sensational live return of Rosie Vanier (previously of Rosie and the Goldbug), we have something that should suit every type of music fan.
Amongst the other highlights in September are Moddi (Tuesday 14th September) and The Daredevil Christopher Wright (Wednesday 15th September) who are both performing at the sold out End of the Road Festival, the successful club night Hairbrush Heroes arrives at Night & Day direct from the famous Jazz Cafe in London on Friday 10th September. This is also the official launch of the new Glee DVD so expect giveaways as well as your favourite power ballads! On the 25th September, Erland and the Carnival featuring ex-Verve and Good the Bad and the Queen guitarist Simon Tong will arrive at Night & Day as part of their UK tour and on Thursday 30th September soon to be cult favourites Truman Peyote and Many Mansions will be performing.
October is dominated by the annual In the City conference but we have also managed to squeeze in performances by Philadelphia Grand Jury (Friday 1st October) who have recently been signed to Communion Records, hyped Scottish new-folk act The Sparrow and the Workshop (Tuesday 5th October), Wigan born Bobby Long (Wednesday 6th October) who plays a rare UK solo date and the highly rated Alan Pownall (Saturday October 9th) fresh from his co-headline tour with Lissie. Canadian label Arts and Crafts latest signing Dan Mangan arrives on Monday 11th October closely followed by DOSH on Wednesday 20th October, Jay Brennan on Thursday 21st October and next big things Ellen and the Escapades (Saturday 23rd October) and Bearsuit (Saturday 30th October). The legendary Bedouin Soundclash arrive on Monday 25th October and we round the month off with the incredibly talented Catherine Feeny on Friday 29th October. November is also shaping up well with shows from NME Favourites Fiction (Wednesday 3rd November), Them: Youth (Thursday 4th November) and Melbourne rockers British India (11th November) amongst the highlights.
We are also passionate about comedy as well as live music at Night & Day. Irish "hip hop" duo Abandoman (Monday 18th October) come to Night & Day following a sold out run at the Edinburgh Fringe. This talented duo are the closest that Europe has produced to Flight of the Conchords and should not to be missed. Award winning Irish/Iranian comedian Patirck Monahan will perform on Wednesday 24th November and star of Channel 4's Dirty Tricks programme magician Ali Cook will perform on Saturday 20th November and he will be bringing his Houdini style water tank with him I am told! Last but not least the incredible Josie Long will be performing on Thursday 9th December.
The Night & Day Cafe is committed to showcasing the very best local acts alongside a varied programme of International touring acts. You can watch the very best live music every night of the week and serve food from 10am daily and stay open till 2am for those wanting a post-gig beverage.
